What is tivùsat?
tivùsat is the first Italian free to air satellite platform. By reaching all areas of the Italian territory, including those not covered from terrestrial TV signal, viewers can access all national DTT channels and a huge line up of national and international channels.

What is the difference between digital terrestrial tv and digital satellite tv?
The main difference is represented by the means of transmitting and receiving the television signals: the digital terrestrial signal is broadcasted via hertzian frequencies and by a national network of terrestrial transmitters; digital satellite uses one or more geostationary satellites to broadcast TV signal directly to citizens households. While digital terrestrial can be received through the normal television aerials, digital satellite requires a satellite dish. Digital terrestrial and digital satellite also use two different types of decoders (and communication standards) for the transformation of digital flows into pictures and sound.

How to get tivùsat?
Have a tivùsat certified decoder, a satellite dish (pointed at Eutelsat Hot Bird 13°east) and the tivùsat smartcard which can be found inside the decoder box.
